Dr. Tharveen's educational background includes a Master's in General Surgery (MSurg UKM), Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland (MRCS Ire), and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the International Medical University (MBBS IMU). His commitment to professional development is evident in additional courses such as Care of Critically Ill Surgical Patients (CCriSP) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
Currently serving as a General Surgeon at Hospital Sultan Ismail, Dr. Tharveen holds multiple leadership roles, including President of MMA Johor SCHOMOS (2023-2024), Chairman of Johor Junior Doctor Surgical Skills Crash Course, and Head of Nutrition Support Team at Hospital Sultan Ismail.
His career journey has been marked by significant contributions, starting as a House Officer at Hospital Taiping and progressing to his current role as a General Surgeon at Hospital Sultan Ismail. Dr. Tharveen's commitment to education is reflected in his roles as an Adjunct Lecturer at Monash University and Guest Lecturer at Newcastle University Clinical Campus.
Dr. Tharveen's expertise spans various surgical procedures, including endoscopy, hernia repairs, appendicectomy, and trauma care. His surgical skills are complemented by a strong commitment to research, resulting in several publications and presentations at national and international forums.
He has been recognized with numerous awards, including being chosen as the only Malaysian surgical resident at the World Congress of Surgery in Basel, Switzerland, and securing the second place for clinical research in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) competition in Washington DC. Dr. Nair's contributions extend beyond clinical practice to leadership roles, research, and education.
